Annison said more applications for selling lottery tickets are still being reviewed and approved. Annison said more than 1,400 applications have been submitted and as of Tuesday approximately 1,000 locations have been approved.

A current list of approved locations can be found at mslotteryhome.com.

Annison said retail locations such as convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants and even beauty parlors and barber shops are eligible to apply for selling lottery tickets in the state.

The only retail locations specifically not permitted to sell tickets by law, Annison said, are liquor stores.

Annison said free-standing stores that only sell lottery tickets are also not permitted.

“A person cannot just sell lottery tickets,” Annison said. “They must be sold from a retail store.”

Retail locations interested in selling lottery tickets can sign up using the link on the homepage of mslotteryhome.com.

Business owners must be able to pass a credit check, a criminal background check and must be in good standing with the Mississippi Department of Revenue, Annison said.

Approved retailers will receive a 6 percent commission on lottery sales, according the Mississippi Lottery website.
